Session 4
Seeing influence in micro network structure.
This session matters because early insight often comes from understanding who connects a field and how influence flows. Building on the cleaned dataset, students construct co-authorship and citation networks at the micro level. The session links data preparation to network reasoning by emphasizing nodes, centrality, and brokerage. Students produce a micro-level network memo that profiles key actors and interpretive claims. Skills developed include network construction, centrality computation, and ego-network interpretation. These micro patterns become the foundation for meso and macro ecosystem analysis in the next sessions.
